Layers of Mystery Envelop Crime
February 21, 2023
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is a Netflix film starring Madelyn Cline and Daniel Craig. Glass Onion aired on Netflix on December 23, 2022. The movie beings with six people receiving a puzzle box. The boxes were an invitation to Miles Bron’s private island to participate in and uncover a murder mystery game in a few days. The master detective, Benoit Blanc, unsolves the
mystery game in just a few minutes. Everyone on the island decided to stay in the mansion for the remainder of the time. Ironically, one of the members gets killed, and Benoit Blanc is put on the case. Glass Onion is a movie about crime, mystery, and
action. If you are looking for a movie that is not too lengthy or too brief, Glass Onion should be a suitable pick. The movie does an outstanding job of keeping the audience curious about the next event in the film. The element of surprise seems to shock the audience in the best way possible by changing the entire plot and what was perceived as actuality. The murder in this film was somewhat tricky to figure out; the idea of it leaves the audience questioning themselves because of how hidden the murderer kept her or himself. I personally like how the idea of the potential murder changes for the audience throughout the movie as well. The actors’ dialogue in Glass Onion was very realistic and had some comedy to it. There were some scenes where their lines were a little off, but overall it felt very authentic and genuine, almost like a reality TV show. When the actors spoke, it was as if the audience were experiencing what was happening at the moment while watching it. The cinematography in the movie was very well shot, and the angles were very convenient for the viewer to observe the surroundings of the scene. The action was also very
smooth when it was shot. It was easy to forget that I was watching a film due to the fact that the camera was very subtle and unnoticeable while it was recording. If I had to rate Glass Onion one out of ten, I would give it a nine because it was full of hidden truths, mystery, and humor that kept me hooked to the movie and intrigued to watch more. It was almost impossible to look away from the screen due to the reason of how satisfactory it was. I would recommend watching this movie with family or friends to make the experience just a little bit more enjoyable.
