With Spring Break right around the corner, now is the time to start looking for your vacation destination. Whether you’re a beach person, a city person, like traveling far, or staying local, there is something to do for everyone. If you cannot decide on a trip, here are the top eight must-see destinations for your 2025 spring vacation.

When you aren’t stopped at a port of call, you can enjoy the actual ship and its multiple dining options, entertainment shows throughout the day, and pools with tanning decks for those who want to soak up the sun. Cruising is the thing for you if you are looking to visit various international destinations in one week without the hassle of driving. (Emily Sacco)(Above) Looking for a vacation that’s not too far from home, but is something a little new? Take a trip to another state, such as New York, for the week. You can explore the tranquil countryside as well as the bustling cityscapes. Domestic trips are a good way to get a mini escape from your busy life, but it doesn’t require immense planning. New York is a place where visitors don’t need a plan. Staying in the heart of New York’s Times Square is a great idea if you’re more of a spontaneous traveler. Although travelers would most likely have to book ahead of time, excursions such as visiting the Empire State Building or the Statue of Liberty are great options with many places within walking distance that are always open to the public. There’s most definitely something that piques everyone’s interest, from artsy museums or natural parks to high-end shopping and restaurants. Europe has numerous gorgeous countries to explore. Each has its own culture, food, and architecture. Mykonos, Greece’s a go-to destination for many. It’s famous for their beautiful architecture. Just minutes away from major theme parks like SeaWorld, Aquatica, and Universal Studios, there are endless opportunities for fun. With over 300 restaurants and 40 attractions, there is something for all to enjoy. With countless opportunities throughout Orlando, everyone can find their niche. From mini-golfing at Pop Stroke with the family to hiking down trails at the Tibit-Butler Nature Preserve, Orlando is the perfect place for outdoorsy experiences. Pop Stroke, located in the Waterford Lakes Town Center is a place where guests can play mini golf, grab food, or go to the top deck and play field games like corn hole and foosball. Go and grab yourself a day pass, which allows you to leave and come back as many times as you please in a singular day. You could play a quick round of golf, go shop around the town center, and then return for another round. With countless beaches running along the state coasts, you can find your new go to destination. If you are looking for white sandy beaches with clear blue water, the west coast is the spot. Pictured above is Clearwater, Florida, a smaller town whose whole premise revolves around its beach. With endless choices to fill your trip, whether indulging in the diverse dining options, visiting the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, or laying out on the actual beach, Clearwater properly showcases all Florida’s beaches have to offer. (Emily Sacco)(Above) Take Spring Break as an opportunity to explore local hidden gems such as Park Avenue in Winter Park, Florida. With over 25 stores, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy good quality shopping. The stores down Park Avenue aren’t your typical brand names but rather small boutiques. In addition, there are over 20 restaurants on the main strip and side streets. You could grab a bite to eat and take it to the park for a picnic. Additionally, every Sunday, Park Avenue hosts a Farmers’ Market. Park Avenue is the perfect place to spend a casual Saturday. (Emily Sacco)
Ashley Taddeo is an eleventh-grade Lake Highland Preparatory School student. She has attended since first grade and is a new member of the Twice-Told Tale staff. Ashley has been participating in club volleyball for three years while managing her schooling and hobbies like running, journaling, traveling, and going to the gym. After high school, she aspires to attend USC to study pre-law, in hopes of becoming a Real Estate Law attorney. Academically, she enjoys English and math, as well as anything history-related, and desires to expand her knowledge as a writer.
Emily Sacco, grade 11, is a beginning staff member of Lake Highland’s newspaper Twice-Told Tale. She attended Lake Highland Preparatory from Pre-K to Kindergarten and returned in fifth grade. She aspires to major in psychology and choose a career within that field. Spending quality time with her loved ones is the best way she likes to spend her free time. Outside of school, she enjoys traveling (especially throughout Europe), going to the gym, and giving back to her community. With over 150 service hours and multiple programs she is involved in, serving her community is something extremely important to her.
