(Above) The invisible illness manifests itself when it gets to the point of a patient crashing down, not being able to function in his or her normal state. A case representative of this idea was when I was admitted into the hosptial. For months since the start of school, I had been working over the present symptoms in my life. However, sometimes it gets to a point where medical intervention is needed. I was constantly hooked up to a new IV bag, my vitals were taken every four hours, and multiple specialists visited me to try to narrow down what was wrong, or if it were just a flare up of symptoms. (Above) Compared to grocery stores, the growth of gardens and small rooftop farms in urban areas has provided areas where people can come together and connect with the earth as their source of food. These urban farms can fill-in gaps for low-income areas where there’s a lack of healthy foods, improving local food security and nutrition.

(Above) When the Alabama Hotel closed, after being owned by several generations of the LaChance and Schenck family, the space was renovated from 1980-1981. During this time, the hotel transformed from guest rooms that hosted luminaries, to a 19-unit condominium. Today, the Alabama is still a condominium, and a two bedroom, two bathroom, 1,245 square foot condo runs for around $800,000. There are currently 12-units in the Alabama, where the units are all updated, and residents have shared amenities, such as a pool and lake access. Photo by Rebecca Reif.

Being in the cattle car, hearing from Holocaust survivors, and getting a small taste for the horrific events they dealt with was indescribable.”

Relating to Instagram trends, butterfly and angel wings fill up a substantial amount of an individual’s feed. It is com- mon for the person to stand in the middle of each wing, and poses for his or her photo.

(Above) On top of the prized breakfast at The Old Spanish Sugar Mill Grill and Griddle House, there are many other activities offered at De Leon Springs State Park including boat tours, swimming in the spring, scuba diving, and hiking through the trails. Before the restaurant or state park was established, sugar cane was crushed using the iconic mill. Later on, Peter and Majorie Shwarze saw the value of this mill, and decided to open up this successful and admired location.

Zane Rimes, grade 10, explained, “When I got to do the seven-night stay at Disney after my battle with cancer, we had a special room at Disney, and I got to cut to the front of the lines at any ride at all of the parks. (Above) Ideas for the film Nomadland began in 2018 when Chloé Zhao, Peter Spears, and Frances McDormand met in McDormand’s apartment to discuss the film. During that discussion, it was evident that Zhao should take the position of director of the film. They heavily took inspiration from Jessica Bruder’s book Nomadland which focused on similar themes of community and freedom.

Above) The finish line ended up being much less glorious than I thought. The two hour finish time on the watch was not something I took pride in, as I did not did I want to think about it. Some of the cheers from fellow runners felt like they were more out of pity than admiration, but, nonetheless, stopping every 10 minutes to meet characters (from a six foot distance) was worth the slight feeling of defeat.

(Above) The work of Dr. Colin Campbell (right) parallels the studies of Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn (left). Esselstyn focused on the effects of meat consumption on heart disease and diabetes. His clinical trials at the Cleveland Clinic, where he prescribed a whole-foods plant-based diet to patients diagnosed as seriously ill with car- diovascular disease, had a success rate of 99.4% for those patients not having a major cardiac event. (Above) There were various actors on the audition site. With all that greeting, hugging, and chatting, an audition can also be a kind of reunion. Expe- rienced actors that participated in shows before were coming back for another year, while novices who tried to hide their nervousness with excite- ment were trying out for the first time. “I’m hoping that everybody does really well, and gets what they want, ”Avery Johnson, grade 12, a returning actor, wished the actors good luck. “This is defi- nitely not my first time doing this. (Above) After graduating from Bishop Lynch High School in Dal- las, Texas, Mr. Jim McIntyre enrolled in the University of North Texas majoring in history with a focus on U.S. diplomacy. He then worked in the restaurant industry for a year when he ran into his former principal who offered him a teaching position. (Above) The second floor of the state-of-the-art building will be the Innovation Institute, which will feature a two-story makerspace surrounded by teaching labs for physics, engineering, robotics, computer science, augmented and virtual reality, and more. The third floor will be dedicated to math classrooms; the fourth floor will be home to English and language arts. The style of this new building will fit in seamlessly with the beautiful domed Rex Building and will be a welcomed addition to modernize the campus and provide a bold and modern future for all members of the greater Highlander community. (Above) Some of the favorite FPS memories for coaches and participants alike is being lucky enough to travel to and participate in international competitions at a variety of universities throughout the United States with students from over 36 states and 7 countries worldwide. LHP was lucky enough to attend the last International Conference in June 2019 at UMass Amherst, and LHP’s competing teams brought back many awards to add to their huge collection.

Must Watch Film Soars Above Expectations

(Above) If you could only order one thing from the menu at Sugar Dough Bakehouse, I would recommend the Strawberry Croissant. It was essentially a croissant filled with a cream filling and fresh strawberries. The light and sweet texture of the filling was unlike any other. Although expensive, the fresh and fluffy dough of the croissant was well worth it.

A comparison of Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 2042’s tanks demonstrate the clearly defined differences between the two photos. Many people have seen and shown that the tanks feel less powerful than Battlefield 4’s tanks. They seem to have less health and loss of some of the abilites. Power over armor is not a good dynamic. It should be more of focus than power to make it work properly.

(Above) Twenty Pho Hour has a wide variety of offerings on their menu, consisting of appetizers, fresh summer rolls, stir fry noodles, pho bowls, signature bowls, build your own bowls, drinks, and desserts. While the menu is mainly focused on pho, other pan-Asian options are available. The most favored seem to be boba teas and refreshers and any type of pho with Twenty Pho Hour’s specialty sauce: 24 sauce. Twenty-four sauce showcases sweet, spicy, and savory flavors, which makes it the perfect pair with many of the dishes.

(Above) Students from leadership would typically assist teachers at Ivey Lane and interact with the school’s students in small groups by helping them complete academic hands-on activities. Alec Bankston, grade 11, helps children in his group complete a fun measuring activity. Working in this environment helps Highlanders practice interpersonal communication skills from these new experiences.
