At first glance, East Garden looks like any typical restaurant. However, the inside of the establishment is full of authentic food and aromas making it a great dining option. Though the location relies on word of mouth for new customers, they specialize in quality food and services, making Chinese cuisine. The business has very affordable options with large serving sizes for parties of four to five so groups only need to order a few dishes. East Garden serves beef and broccoli, house fried rice, and pan-fried turnip pudding. Their beef and broccoli is tender and succulent and is elevated by the sauce and vegetables. The house fried rice has a blend of meats containing chicken, pork, and shrimp which enables customers to taste every aspect of the onions and soy sauce. Not only that, but their fried rice can feed around four people for the price of $18.00.
The pan-fried turnips are a mix of crispy and fluffy textures, including perfect crust combined with spices and seasonings. It makes a great starting dish. When being seated the staff tries to be as welcoming as possible. Ordering food is quick as the staff are always walking around checking on diners and refilling waters. The interior of the restaurant is very open, with ample seating for when it gets busy. They have paintings all around, and in the back there is a giant piece called Along the River During the Qingming Festival painted by Zhang Zeduan. This painting is meant to show the daily life of people from the Song period in Beijing. All these different aspects of the establishment keep customers returning.
I discovered this place through some of my family’s closest friends. They moved from California, and ever since they came to Florida, they have been scouring the area for the best Chinese spot around. It took them around a year to find East Garden, with it being by far the best one. These friends were so excited to share the best Chinese food that they’ve had in Florida. My family ordered a variety of things when we went to this spot. They had the juiciest duck with succulent honey roast pork. These flavors also pair well with hot tea and spicy sauces. These details are what caught the attention of our friends. They have travelled all over the world, and this is by far the best Chinese they’ve had in Florida.
East Garden has very accommodating hours, depending on when customers tend to go. During the week they are open from 10:00 A.M to 9:00 P.M Mondays through Sunday and are only closed on Wednesdays. The business’s versatile hours allow customers to dine at almost any time whether it is an early lunch or dinner. They are also open on Christmas and New Year’s for people who don’t want to cook on those holidays. The environment of East Garden brings people together with the inviting staff and delicious food. The restaurant strives to serve the best quality food and is located at 5136 West Colonial Drive in Orlando.
